Yes. I made it in a week ago with my Mum.

We’re in quarantine now, but we already feel like we made the right choice. I couldn’t be happier that I am away from the US right now!
The first few days were rather tough. This is my fourth international move if you include the fact I was a baby when I first moved internationally.
Even though I have learned a lot about orchestrating a move from those experiences, the mental and physical toll never goes away. Sometimes, the toll can be more or less depending on the situation.
I will say more in a future post. I have a lot to say, but I’m still getting organized right now!
So far, the good things are that quarantine is going well and things are settling. It snowed for a few days and I have some lovely pictures from that!
It’s actually nice to have a quarantine period because there’s time to rest and have Me Time, which I really need right now! I already love it here and I want this to work out so much!
There have been some hiccups, like getting deliveries. IKEA and Overstock CA were disagreeable surprises! π More on that later too.
PSA: I do NOT want to talk about what’s going on in the US right now! I don’t want to know the latest stuff going on!
Heck, I don’t even want to know who wins the election! I’m emotionally detoxing right now and quite fatigued and I need to take care of myself.
Thank you!
So, this was one of the reasons I had to disappear for a while, but stay tuned for more! Stay safe and healthy peeps! ππ¨π¦
My fiancΓ© says enjoy yourself, as he lived in Alberta for 12 years and loved it.
Tell him thank you! I definitely love it here! π
Welcome to Canada! Stay warm!
Thank you!
Yayyy! Congrats! Itβs a goal of mine to visit Canada.
Thank you! You should definitely visit Montreal and Calgary and Vancouver! The other places I don’t know about yet (heck I only saw Vancouver from the air, but it still looks great!) Calgary is near Jasper and Banff too, so it’s definitely worth a trip!
They all sound so amazing!
They are!
Canada is such an awesome place and a lot of Nigerians make it their first destination for travel, work or school.
I’m very happy that you moved although I see it wasn’t so smooth.
Cheers to happier times in Canada.
That’s cool! Glad to know Canada is so popular! π It never is entirely smooth when you move overseas. Even at the best of times, it’s physically and emotionally tiring. There are a lot of things that can go wrong, but it’s all worth it in the end!
Hope you get all the grace and strength you need!
Thank you! I’m glad my Mum is with me, but it’s been hard to leave the rest of my family and my friends behind and wondering if they are okay at a time like this π
Yeah that’s true. Especially with Covid.
Just pray and hope for the best… keep in touch too.
And that orange baboon in the White House and his cult destroying the country. I will do! π
Hahaha! π€£
Hahaha indeed!! π
Thank you! I can’t wait either! Good to see you back here and thanks for commenting! π
For some reason your comments went to spam, but I took care of that now. I can’t seem to find your blog though
Cool!
Congratulations!! Moving in general is stressful let alone having to move to an entirely different country! Iβm sure itβs even more of a hassle to move during the middle of a pandemic! But glad to hear that you arrived safely.
Thank you! The pandemic thing did have its problems, but the emotional detox from leaving a toxic country was something else. Thanks for stopping by!
Quarantine sounds like a perfect time to emotionally detox. Wishing you all the best in adapting to your new home. The Canadians with whom I had close contact with during my days as an international trade professional were great to work with. Very friendly people.
Thank you! Yeah, I think Canadians are great too! π
Thank you. It’s definitely been a blessing in disguise to move and have a quarantine period!
Welcome!!
Thank you!! π
